Course Outline

Suggested entry requirements: It is recommended that candidates have done at least 6 months of GP, 36 months (3 years) post house officer clinical time, and at least 5 of the university courses (or 4 university courses and GPEP 1). This can be flexible depending on the candidate's background. It is also suggested the candidate is employed by Health NZ as this will allow reimbursement of costs.

Tutorials: Total of 12 tutorials + 1-2 introductory tutorials. All delivered virtually over a 3 month period. Most tutorials start at 7pm and run for 2 hours. It is expected that candidates will be run through a case at each tutorial. 

 

Individual tuition: This will vary per candidate but provision of up to 10 hours/candidate. More or less if needed and identified by the faculty.

Mock exam: A full length (8 station) MOCK exam.

Limit on candidates: Semester 1 to be 6 candidates and semester 2 to be 4 candidates. 4 candidates in semester 2 to keep 2 spaces available if candidates are not successful in semester 1.

Funding: This course is approved by the Division of RHM for funding. It is also listed on the RDA training website as an approved course.

 

Cost: The course currently (Sept 2024) costs $5925 including GST (subject to change)
